James Mainwaring is a composer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist best known for his saxophone playing in Roller Trio, Tipping Point and as a session musician for Django Django. He also performs solo sax sets with effects pedals, is currently working on his debut song based record â€˜Ribâ€˜ and is a PhD student at the University of York â€“ recipient of the Sir Jack Lyons Scholarship. Mainwaring was born in 1989 in Warrington. He sang in rock bands and joined Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra then moved to Leeds to study jazz at Leeds College of Music where he is still based.
