The Medway Community Centre, Bakewell, is
pleased to announce a Fundraising Event at an evening with the ‘Stars
of British Jazz’. The band comprises a mixture of past and
present members of bands led by Kenny Ball, Chris Barber, Acker Bilk
and Humphrey Lyttelton. Performers will include Colin Wood on piano,
John Benson on double bass and vocals, Richie Burns on Drums, Graham
Woodhouse on trombone, Mike Cotton on trumpet and Zoltan Sagi playing
reeds.
The evening will be a performance of traditional
jazz as made popular in Britain in the 1950’s and 60’s and will be
raising funds for improvements to the Medway Centre facilities. Get a
group together and come out for a great night of music and help us to
support this truly local Community Centre.
Tickets are £10 each and there will be a
bar available. Performance begins at 7.30pm. A raffle to raise funds
will be drawn at the event.

Steve Howe returns for a special one off solo tour at a select few
handpicked venues across the country. His set list includes songs from
jazz guitarist Kenny Burrell, who Howe cites as an important
reference point for his work, alongside Yes classics and works from Howe's long
and illustrious solo career. A wonderful evening out in the company of one of
the UK's greatest guitarists.
