DERBY JAZZ  is a not for profit arts organisation which has been active since 1982.

Working in partnership with a number of different venues in Derby city centre, we promote performances of live jazz by leading artists. The high quality of our programme has been recognised by three promoters awards: the Performing Rights Foundation; the Musicians Union and Jazz Services.

Derby Jazz organises education projects in schools, colleges and the University of Derby. We also work closely with Hothouse - previously the East Midlands Youth Jazz Orchestra.

Derby Jazz has always supported exceptionally talented local musicians as they develop their national and international careers. We are particularly proud of our association with Dave O'Higgins and Phil Robson.

Derby Jazz is committed to Equal Opportunities. Read our policy document

Derby Jazz receives core funding from EMJAZZ, Arts Council England and Derby City Council. It has also received project funding and support from Derby LIVE, University of Derby, Jazz Services, Performing Rights Society Foundation, Making Music, Youth Music, Friends of Derby Jazz, Richard Petrie Optometrist, Littleover, and West House Dental Practice, Belper.
